Abstract
Online learning becomes the new face of today’s education caused by the global pandemic. The sudden changes raise problems that become the concerns whether for Christian and non-Christian teachers. Yet, thoughtful inquiries to what Christian teachers should respond to the problems and practice it in the online learning context is necessary. Thus, the paper aims to take a look at the online learning problems and how then Christian teachers should come up with distinctive solutions and principles. This is qualitative research with the author’s online field experience portfolio served as supporting data. The paper concluded that problems that emerged in online learning are lack of teachers’ preparation, students’ mental condition and availability of online learning supporting instruments, also teacher’s adaptation and improvement. Then, Christian teachers are supposed to make a holistic lesson planning that integrates Biblical values, practicing grace during the learning by putting students’ condition into consideration and treating them more than just as the object of learning but as image-bearers, and being reflective. The author recommends future researchers to do a more in-depth review of the topic that is supported by the authentic data from Christian teachers holding online learning or action research.
