Abstract
Representing global and local culture in English classroom is just as crucial as learning the linguistic part of English language. Moreover, it is important for the students to realize as English is an international language and widely used, so it has numerous social and cultural resources and context. Therefore, it is the job as a teacher to start developing the students’ intercultural competence by representing global and local culture while delivering the materials. Putting more attention to cultural representation in ELT would enrich the students with context and resources while communicating with English language in the future. As a Christian teacher it is a must to use Biblical values while representing global and cultural culture so that the student would understand cultures in God’s perspective and framework. This study shows that cultural representation could help the students communicate with people from different cultural and social background. Also the researcher used descriptive qualitative as the research method. Lastly, the researcher would recommend to maximize the use of internet and online media especially during online learning by exploring more culture and social context to develop the students’ intercultural competence.
