Abstract

Latar belakang Edukasi merupakan aspek yang penting dalam kehidupan seorang individu. Salah satu ukuran untuk melihat suatu keberhasilan proses belajar adalah prestasi akademik. Prestasi akademik itu sendiri bisa dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu, gaya belajar, faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Tujuan Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap prestasi akademik siswa dan klasifikasi gaya belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Matematika. Metode dan analisis Penelitian ini menggunakan studi potong lintang dan data dikumpulkan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kuesioner VARK digunakan untuk mengetahui preferensi gaya belajar responden dan nilai UJIAN AKHIR SEMESTER MATA PELAJARAN Matematika diambil untuk mengetahui prestasi akademik responden. Hasil Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, didapatkan dari total 42 responden, 9 responden dengan gaya belajar auditori nilai yang sangat baik dan memiliki p = 0.022 dan OR = 0.152 (95% CI: 0.028 - 0.814), sedangkan gaya belajar lainnya memiliki nilai p>0.05. Tidak ada perbedaan prestasi akademik yan bermakna antarvariabel gaya belajar. Kesimpulan Terdapat hasil yang signifikan pada siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori terhadap prestasi akademik mata pelajaran Matematika. / Background Education is a conscious effort to prepare an individual for their role in the future through the learning process. One measure to see a successful learning process is academic performance. The academic performance itself can be influenced by several factors such as learning styles, internal factors and external factors. Aim This study aims to look at the influence of learning styles on student’s academic performance and the classification of student’s learning styles in Mathematics. Method and analysis This study uses a cross-sectional study design and the data was collected by using the purposive sampling technique. Learning style preference was measured with the VARK questionnaire and Final Exam results were used to know the academic performance. Results This result shows that with a total of 42 respondents, 9 respondents with auditory learning styles have an excellent academic performance with p = 0.022 and OR = 0.152 (95% CI: 0.028 - 0.814), while other learning styles have p>0.05. There is no difference in academic performance based on VARK learning style with p-value of 0.056 > α (0.05) Conclusion There is a significant relationship between auditory learning styles and academic performance.
