Abstract
Berdasarkan hasil observasi peneliti di kelas X SMA LNM, didapati bahwa kebanyakan siswa memiliki pemahaman konseptual yang rendah pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Salah satu yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa adalah penerapan metode ceramah yang kurang mengakomodir keberagaman kemampuan siswa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran pengajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) dalam pembelajaran. Melalui penerapan model pembelajaran ini, diharapkan tujuan penelitian yang dirumuskan dapat tercapai, yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep melalui penerapan model pembelajaran pengajaran langsung dan mengetahui langkah pelaksanaan model pembelajaran pengajaran langsung dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian berlangsung selama dua siklus dari tanggal 27 Oktober 2014 hingga 7 November 2014. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA LNM berjumal 23 orang. Hasil data dianalisa dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif deskriptif dan perhitungan kuantitatif sederhana. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah lembar observasi penerapan metode, lembar kuis individu, lembar angket siswa, pertanyaan wawancara mentor, dan jurnal refleksi. Data dari seluruh instrumen tersebut memberikan kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran pengajaran langsung yang terdiri dari empat tahapan pelaksanaan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X SMA LNM pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi materi tentang pasar. / Based on observation of researcher which was done at grade X SMA LMN, it was found that most of the students had low conceptual understanding in Economics lesson. One of the reasons was caused by teaching method that focused in lecturing to accommodate the students’ various ability. In order to overcome the problem, the researcher decided to implement Direct Instruction. By implementing Direct Instruction, it was expected that the research purposes would be achieved, which were to improve the students’ conceptual understanding through the implementation of Direct Instruction and to know the steps of implementation of Direct Instruction that improve students’ conceptual understanding. The method of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). This CAR that consisted of two cycles was conducted on October 27 – November 7, 2014. Subjects in this research were 23 students grade X SMA LNM. Data results were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis and simple statistic. Instruments used in this research were observation sheet for method implementation, individual quiz sheet, questionnaire sheet, mentor interview questions, and reflection journal. All the data from those instruments gave conclusion that the implementation of Direct Instruction method could improve grade X students’ conceptual understanding in learning Economics lessons with the topic about market.
