Abstract

Gamolan Pekhing merupakan alat musik tradisional Indonesia yang berasal dari Lampung Barat, Sumatera Selatan dan terbuat dari bambu. Gamolan Pekhing diklasifikasikan sebagai alat musik kordofon yang menggunakan senar sebagai penahan bilah dan tabung bambu sebagai rensonann. Gamolan Pekhing terdiri dari enam nada dengan satu bilah mewakili satu nada, yaitu do re mi sol la ti, dan do’. Penelitian ini melatarbelakangi karakteristik akustik Gamelan Pekhing yang dianalisis menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui pengukuran bunyi dengan tiga parameter yaitu spektral, temporal, dan spasial. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gamolan Pekhing memiliki rentang frekuensi fundamental bawah – menengah yaitu dengan nada terendah di 375 Hz dan nada tertinggi di 843,75 Hz dan konten harmonik di frekuensi menengah – atas yaitu 128,75Hz yang merupakan harmonik pertama dari nada Do dan konten harmonik dengan frekuensi tertinggi 6937,5Hz. Gamolan Pekhing memiliki selubung bunyi dengan total waktu yang singkat dengan nada Do’ memiliki selubung bunyi dengan total waktu tersingkat yaitu 296ms dan nada Mi memiliki selubung bunyi dengan total waktu terpanjang yaitu 1034ms. Gamolan Pekhing memiliki arah sebar bunyi dengan tendensi arah lurus ke depan, di sebelah kiri, dan di sebelah kanan dari posisi pemain, serta sangat lemah di belakang posisi pemain. Penelitian ini berhasil menunjukkan karakteristik spektral, karakteristik temporal, dan karakteristik spasial yang dapat digunakan untuk posisi mikrofon, posisi pemain, dan proses pencampuran pada perekaman Gamolan Pekhing./Gamolan Peking was a bamboo-made traditional Indonesian instrument that was originated from West Lampung, South Sumatera. It was classified as a chordophone musical instrument; where the nylon strings act as a holder among the blades and the bamboo tubes as a resonance. Gamolan Peking consisted of six notes; each blade represents one-note, namely do re my sol la ti and do. This research on acoustic characteristics of Gamolan Pekhing was analyzed by using the quantitative method through sound measurement with three parameters, namely spectral, temporal, and spatial. The results of this experiment showed that Gamolan Pekhing had lower-middle fundamental frequencies (375Hz to 843,75 Hz) and harmonic content at mid-upper frequencies (128,75Hz to 693,75Hz). Gamolan Pekhing had a short duration time of sound envelope, with Do’ is the shortest total amount of sound envelope is 296ms and Mi is the longest total amount of sound envelope is 1034ms. The directivity of Gamolan Pekhing tended to go straight forward; from the left to the right position of the player and was particularly weak when coming from the back of the player. This research result succeeded in showing the spectral characteristics, temporal characteristics, and spatial characteristics that could be employed in microphone position, player position, and the mixing process in Gamolan Pekhing recording.
