Abstract

Media online merupakan hasil kemajuan teknologi yang memungkinkan manusia untuk memperoleh informasi yang tidak dibatasi perbedaan tempat dan waktu. Varian informasi yang disajikan pun beragam termasuk informasi mengenai K-pop. Terdapat allkpop.com, yang merupakan sebuah situs berita seputar K-pop yang berada di peringkat ke – 662 sebagai situs web yang paling sering dikunjungi di Indonesia. Hal tersebut mendorong Peneliti untuk mengetahui apakah kegunaan yang mendorong serta kepuasan yang diraih dari allkpop.com bagi sepuluh anggota Sujunesia yang juga merupakan pengguna aktif dari media online tersebut. Untuk dapat menjawab rumusan masalah tersebut, Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi. Kemudian, Peneliti menggunakan Teori Kegunaan dan Kepuasan (Uses and Gratifications Theory) untuk membingkai penelitian ini dan mengkaitkannya dengan tipologi kepuasan dan kegunaan serta model paradigma kegunaan dan kepuasan. Dari hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa para informan memiliki alasan penggunaan media selain untuk memperoleh informasi. Para informan juga meraih kepuasan dalam mengakses allkpop.com yang disebabkan oleh penyajian berita yang menarik dan mudah dimengerti meskipun disajikan dalam bahasa Inggris. / Online media are the result of technology development that allows people to obtain information without any space or time limitations. Online media offer various kinds of information, including information about K-pop. Allkpop.com is a website containing the latest information about K-pop. Allkpop.com is the 662nd most visited website in Indonesia. That data encourages the Researcher to find out the uses and gratifications of allkpop.com for ten members of Sujunesia, who are also active users of that online media. To answer the research questions, the Researcher used the qualitative phenomenology method. Then, the Researcher used the Uses and Gratifications Theory as the framework of this research and associated it with the typologies and the paradigm model of uses and gratifications. The results show that all of the informants have their own reasons in accessing allkpop.com aside from obtaining information. All informants were also gratified after they accessed allkpop.com because the news were delivered nicely and were easy to understand, even though English is not the mother tounge of the informants.
