Abstract
M-commerce didefinisikan sebagai kegiatan transaksi retail yang dilakukan menggunakan jaringan dan peralatan telekomunikasi mobile, termasuk pembelian dan pemesanan produk atau jasa yang dilakukan dengan perangkat komunikasi mobile. Banyak orang mempunyai dan menggunakan perangkat komunikasi mobile, sampai dengan Oktober 2003 tercatat jumlah pelanggan operator seluler di Indonesia sebanyak 16,9 juta. Kondisi ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mendorong terwujudnya m-commerce. Dengan menganalisa kondisi yang ada di Indonesia meliputi teknologi yang digunakan, kondisi individu, sosial dan budaya dapat dibuat suatu framework layanan m-commerce di Indonesia yang akan digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi produk dan layanan m-commerce yang dapat dikembangkan di Indonesia. Kondisi individu, sosial dan budaya masyarakat perkotaan di Indonesia yang/w«, suka hiburan, sibuk, mobile, suka berbelanja mendorong dikembangkan layanan mobile entertainment, mobile infotainment (informas/, religion, emergency), mobile ticketing, mobile directory, mobile shopping, mobile advertising, mobile marketing.dan mobile banking.
