Abstract

Berbagai tantangan di dunia pendidikan yang semakin kompleks dan dekadensi moral di kalangan pelajar yang semakin nyata terlihat, membuat masyarakat mempertanyakan efektivitas seorang guru dalam mendidik. Berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa untuk menjadi guru yang efektif, seorang guru membutuhkan keyakinan akan kemampuannya sendiri dalam menjalankan profesinya, atau disebut self efficacy. Sumber self efficacy dapat berasal dari faktor internal maupun eksternal guru. Penelitian ini bermaksud melihat pengaruh antara salah satu faktor internal, yakni kecerdasan emosional, dan salah satu faktor eksternal, yakni iklim sekolah, terhadap self efficacy para guru. Selain itu peneliti juga ingin melihat seberapa besar kontribusi kecerdasan emosional dan iklim sekolah terhadap self efficacy para guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran tiga buah kuesioner yang telah diuji reliabilitas dan validitasnya terlebih dahulu. Dari analisis data terhadap 60 guru yang berasal dari sekolah XYZ, didapatkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self efficacy, iklim sekolah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self efficacy, kecerdasan emosional dan iklim sekolah secara simultan juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self efficacy.. / The complexity of educational field and moral decadence amongst students have raised questions about teachers’ effectivity. Past researches showed that it takes self efficacy to be an effective teacher, a confidence of own’s ability. The source of self efficacy can be internal or external. This research aim to seek the relationship between one of the internal sources, emotional intelligence, and one of the external sources, school climate, with teachers’ self efficacy. This research will also seek the percetage of contribution from the two variables to teacher’s self efficacy. Research was conducted with quatitative approach by regression analysis. Data was collected using three sets of valid and reliable questionnaires. By analyzing data of 60 teachers from XYZ school, it is concluded emotional intelligence has significant impact on self efficacy, school climate has significant impact on self efficacy, emotional intelligence and school climate simultaneously also has significant impact on self efficacy
