Abstract

Access to the media is becoming more important in human life today. Many people have considered this as a primary need due to their desire to access information, entertainment and education as well as knowledge from different hemispheres. Further, this is supported by rapid technological evolution which produce both sophisticated hard wares and softwares, yet becoming easier to use such as Tab and App respectively. This lead to the dawn of the “new media” era. Meanwhile, multitasking is very common in our daily life. All of us have experience doing several things simultaneously even unconsciously. For example,listening to music while driving, taking notes while listening to lectures, or even responding to a chat message while focusing at work. Multitasking saves time and allows us to do many things at once. Thus, under the the “new media” era a vlogger represents an Idea of someone that capable of performing multitask as she or he acts as as reporter, cameraman and editor at once. In the eye of journalists and non-journalists they can be categorized as beauty vlogger , fashion vlogger or a travel vlogger. Last but not least, the research around ,multitasking among vloggers, will involve all three categories of vloggeraccross people with primary occupation as journalists or non-journalists. Youtube as new media toll will be used to categorize samples (journalist vs. non-journalists), as well as to identify whether samples meet the criteria as multi-tasking individual.Qualitative approach with an explorative descriptive method will be used. The results of this study see a new phenomenon that occurs on the new media youtube with beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger and travel vlogger in the perspective of journalists with the freedom, curiosity and monetization in the ability of partial multitasking vlogger competence. Beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger and travel vlogger in non journalist perspective is independence, existence and earn money with competency capability fully multitasking vlogger. / Akses terhadap media menjadi salah satu hal yang paling dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan manusia saat ini, dapat dikatakan sebagai kebutuhan primer. Dikarenakan kebutuhan akan informasi, hiburan dan pendidikan serta akses pengetahuan dari belahan bumi yang berbeda. Kemajuan dalam hal teknologi serta informasi yang semakin canggih dengan perangkat perangkatnya yang diproduksi oleh industri seperti menghadirkan “dunia dalam genggaman”. Dalam dunia psikologi, tugas ganda (multitasking) bukan hal yang baru dalam keseharian. Tanpa disadari, seringkali melakukan beberapa hal bersamaan dalam satu waktu. Dari mulai menyetir sambil mendengarkan musik, mencatat sambil mendengarkan penjelasan dosen, atau bahkan mengerjakan tugas sambil membalas chat teman.Tugas ganda (multitasking) memang menghemat waktu sekaligus memungkinkan kita melakukan banyak hal „sekali jalan‟. Media baru menjadikan sarana transportasi dalam perubahan dalam kemampuan multitasking, dalam media mainstream reporter, kameramen dan editor menjadi pekerjaan dibawah naungan perorangan, namun dengan hadirnya dunia baru yaitu vlogger menjadikan kemampuan melakukan tugas ganda (multitasking) dari reporter, kameramen dan editor menjadi satu kesatuan yang dapat dikatakan sebagai beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger dan travel vlogger dalam perspektif wartawan dan non wartawan. Dalam penelitian ini mengunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif eksploratif, penelitian Tugas ganda (multitasking) vlogger studi beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger, dan travel vlogger. Subjek penelitian adalah beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger dan juga travel vlogger dengan latar belakang wartawan dan non wartawan. Memberikan gambaran tentang vlogger dengan latar belakang wartawan dan non wartawan memenuhi kompetensi multitasking dalam media baru yaitu youtube. Hasil dari penelitian ini melihat fenomena baru yang terjadi pada media baru youtube dengan beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger dan travel vlogger dalam perspektif wartawan dengan memiliki kebebasan, rasa ingin tau dan monetisasi dalam kemampuan kompetensi parsial multitasking vlogger. Beauty vlogger, fashion vlogger dan travel vlogger dalam perspektif non wartawan adalah independensi, eksistensi dan mendapatkan uang dengan kemampuan kompetensi fully multitasking vlogger.
