Abstract

Currently the development of the projects of oil and gas is undergoing rapid development, however if not supported by good management then the course of development project will not be maximized. EPC project is a project in where the contractor running the project with scope of responsibility for completion of work includes design studies, procurement of materials and construction as well as planning of these three activities. Pattern of EPC project that the owners give credence to the EPC contractor from initial design engineering, procurement of materials and equipment, and carry out the construction work. Hence the performance of the work can be lead to the achievement of certain target with technical specifications required by the owner. EPC project is a project with high complexity due to dealing with high risk jobs, demands high quality, schedule is relatively short, associated with huge costs and a series of activities that commonly performed only once time. So that the construction management plays an important role for successes of this EPC project, how the resources involved in the project can be applied as appropriate. The topic of thesis is related to controlling of material pipe in EPC project oil and gas in PT. Meindo Elang Indah, specific data collected from one of projects called South Mahakam Phase 3 (SMK3). At end obtained 3 main variables that affected to overall performance of project and impacted to losses on project. The results of this tesis are expected to be useful and become inputsiv for company in where the research was conducted and could also be a reference for other Contractor when executing a project. / Dewasa ini pembangunan pada proyek-proyek minyak dan gas sedang mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, namun bila tidak di dukung dengan manajemen yang baik maka jalannya pembangunan proyek tersebut tidak akan maksimal. Proyek EPC adalah suatu proyek dimana kontraktor mengerjakan proyek dengan ruang lingkup tanggung jawab penyelesaian pekerjaan meliputi studi rekayasa, pengadaan material dan konstruksi serta perencanaan dari ketiga aktivitas tersebut. Pada pola proyek EPC, pemilik memberi kepercayaan kepada kontraktor untuk mengerjakan proyek mulai dari tahap rekayasa, melakukan pengadaan material dan peralatan, dan melaksanakan pekerjaan konstruksi. Sehingga kinerja pekerjaan yang telah dikerjakan tersebut dapat menghasilkan pencapaian target tertentu dengan spesifikasi teknis yang dikehendaki oleh pemilik proyek. Proyek EPC merupakan proyek dengan kompleksitas yang tinggi karena berhubungan dengan resiko pekerjaan yang tinggi, tuntutan kualitas yang tinggi, waktu pengerjaan yang relatif pendek, berhubungan dengan biaya yang besar dan merupakan suatu rangkaian kegiatan yang umumnya hanya satu kali dilaksanakan. Sehingga manajemen konstruksi memegang peranan penting dalam mensukseskan proyek EPC ini, bagaimana sumber daya yang terlibat dalam proyek dapat diaplikasikan secara tepat. Tesis ini mengangkat topik pengendalian material pipa di proyek EPC minyak dan gas di PT. Meindo Elang Indah, spesifik data diambil dari salah satu proyek yaitu South Mahakam Phase 3 (SMK3) dan dari penelitian didapat 3ii variabel utama yang mempengaruhi kinerja keseluruhan proyek yang berakibat pada kerugian pada proyek tersebut, yang selanjutnya didetailkan dalam tesis ini. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat dan menjadi masukan bagi perusahaan tempat penelitian ini dilakukan dan juga bisa menjadi referensi bagi perusahaan kontraktor lainnya ketika mengeksekusi suatu proyek khususnya proyek minyak dan gas
