Abstract

Lentera Harapan School of Curug is a Christian school that implements a social relationship based on the vision and mission of the school. This social relation is known as shalom community. There are efforts to be done together in implementing shalom community in order to keep these bonds well established such as: worship together, as well as doing together activities. Constraints in the application of shalom communities include: high working hours, unavailability of adequate space, and the high level of ego of teachers who are still relatively young. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see how the application of shalom community in Lentera Harapan Curug? This study uses qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were 24 respondents. Data processing method was analysed through observation, interview and documentation. The study was conducted within five months. The results of this study concluded that shalom community is a community that builds right relationships, has the love of Christ, peace, and realizes the importance of returning to Christ by studying God's Word daily. / Sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug merupakan sekolah Kristen yang menerapkan suatu relasi sosial yang berlandaskan pada visi dan misi sekolah. Relasi sosial ini dikenal dengan sebutan komunitas syalom. Ada upaya-upaya yang harus dilakukan bersama dalam menerapkan komunitas syalom agar ikatan ini tetap terjalin dengan baik seperti: ibadah bersama, maupun melakukan kegiatan kebersamaan. Kendala- kendala dalam penerapan komunitas syalom antara lain: jam kerja yang tinggi, tidak tersedianya ruangan yang memadai, serta tingginya tingkat ego para guru yang masih tergolong muda. Oleh sebab itu, adapun penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana penerapan komunitas syalom di sekolah Lentera Harapan Curug? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 24 responden. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam waktu lima bulan. Hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa komunitas syalom adalah komunitas yang membangun hubungan yang benar, memiliki kasih Kristus, damai, serta menyadari pentingnya kembali kepada Kristus dengan mempelajari Firman Tuhan setiap hari.
