Abstract
Background: Indonesia had already known about palliative care as evidenced by the Decree of the Minister of Health Republic Indonesia Number 812 / Menkes / SK / VII / 2007, but Indonesia is still limited in providing palliative care. This is caused by several challenges, such as palliative care is still growing, differences of opinion in determining the priority of care provided. Also, the limited hospitals that have palliative care, limited health workers who understand palliative care cause many of the patient death without palliative care. Aim: to describe nurses' experiences in providing end-of-life care for patients with terminal illness. Research Method: uses a Literature Review with a simplified approach. The results of the stud: there are four themes found in the literature study, that are the unpreparedness of nurses in providing end-of-life care, psychological stres, negative feelings experienced by nurses, and positive things obtained by nurses. Recommendations: For further research, it is advisable to conduct a direct study with nurses about their experience in caring for dying patients. For nurses, it is recommended to make this literature review as a reference in providing end-oflife care for patients with terminal illness. For nursing students, it is recommended to make this literature review as a reference in preparing to provide end-of-life care for patients with terminal illness.
