Family business is the most common type of business and yet about 70% of them fail to pass down to their next generation. One of the solutions to sustain family business to future generation is to hire non-family employees, which is the objective of this research to prove the relationship between the roles of non-family employees and the sustainability of family business that will be conduct at PT Sukses Abadi Transindo. In a family business, non-family employees have roles of giving complimentary skill set, degree of stability, vision and leadership. To have a sustainable family business, the business needs to frame decisions in terms of years and decades rather than on the next quarter's earnings report and to consider more factors than simply the profit or loss earned. This research is using quantitative research design. The data were obtained through preliminary interviews and questionnaires. The sample of this research is 37 non-family employees of PT Sukses Abadi Transindo which is also the population. Census sampling was used in this research as there was small population and to get higher accuracy on results. The hypothesis test (Z test) shows that the roles of non-family employees impacts the sustainability of family business at PT Sukses Abadi Transindo, which is the Zcount (4.536) > Ztable (1.96).
