Abstract

Business environment had caused competition in labor market which exceedingly important to retain employees. Researches indicated that qualified employees persist with company when experiencing job satisfaction. Objective of the research is to find out whether compensation has impact towards employees’ job satisfaction at PT Kharisma Rasa Sayang Medan.Compensation is a form of pay from employer to employees for working through their skills and efforts to achieve company’s objectives while job satisfaction is a reflection of employees’ feeling and evaluation with the work, which may lead to positive or negative attitudes. The research approaches includes quantitative, descriptive and correlational. Source of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection method is done by distributed questionnaire. Data analysis method includes descriptive statistics, validity, reliability, normality, linearity, correlation, determination, simple linear regression analysis and z-test.Entire statements in questionnaire are proven valid and reliable. This research proves that compensation and employees’ job satisfaction have a significantly strong and positive relationship. The coefficient of determination is 60.3%. Z-test result indicates that Ha is accepted; as zcount value (4.2503) is greater than ztable value (1.96). Based on the data analysis, writer’s recommendation for PT Kharisma Rasa Sayang Medan is to improve salary payment, incentive, commission, insurance, overtime pay, attractiveness of work, relationship with co-workers and current working environment. As for other researchers is to do further research which is not covered in this research.
