Abstract
This research is done at PT Boga Dimsum Indonesia to answer the problem that currently occurs in that company which is the inability to maximize the employee performance. The aim of this research is to determine whether motivation has an effect towards the employee performance.The literature review of motivation limited to the Maslow’s theory of Hierarchy of Needs; and employee performance in the scope of performance quantity, work quality, time utilization and cooperation. The population in this research is the chefs of PT Boga Dimsum Indonesia is 50 people. The sampling technique used is census sampling.The research is conducted with quantitative approach with tests including data quality testing, correlation and determination testing; and hypothesis testing.The findings showed that majority of the employees are generally good with their motivation. However, there are still several employees that disagree with the current motivation status on the company. The result of this research shows that it is indeed proven that motivation has positive effect towards employee performance.
