Abstract

Penelitia n kualitatif ini memaparkan implikasi interpretasi pembacaan cerita pendek terhadap pendidikan nilai. Pendidikan nilai adalah penanaman pengertian nilai pada dimensi kognitif siswa dalam rangka pembentukan kepribadian. Peneliti berasumsi bahwa praktik pembelajaran bidang studi non moral, khususnya Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah XYZ, secara tidak langsung dapat menjadi media pembelajaran nilai- nilai, yaitu melalui pembacaan cerita pendek. Peneliti mengambil enam cerpen dari Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2009-2014 yang dibahas oleh para murid partisipan dalam orientasi kepada nilai sosial, estetis, ekonomi, politis, teoretis, dan religius. Sejauh mana pembacaan karya sastra tersebut berpengaruh terhadap pendidikan nilai dikaji peneliti melalui metode hermeneutik spiral yang dilandasi oleh hermeneutika dialogis H.G. Gadamer. Dengan ini peneliti memperlakukan rangkaian wawancara maupun diskusi atas cerpen sebagai sebuah teks. Darinya peneliti mengidentifikasi prasangka (horizon) partisipan maupun hadirnya pengertian (fusi horizon) mereka terhadap cerita pendek yang ditafsirkan dalam rangka orientasi nilai-nilai. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan nilai atas pembacaan cerpen terjadi ketika sang penikmat cerpen (karya sastra) merespons temuan pesan atas teks dengan konteks kekinian personalnya secara intelektual dan mengidentifikasinya sebagai bagian dari dirinya karena mengakui bahwa pesan tersebut memiliki makna untuk hidupnya. Substansinya terletak pada perkembangan wawasan partisipan untuk mampu melampaui makna literal teks dan mengontekstualisasikannya terhadap realitas sekitar ataupun sebagai refleksi bagi pengalamannya / This qualitative research presents the implications of short story reading interpretation on values education. Values education is a way to nourish value understanding into the students' cognitive dimension in order to build child’s personality. Researcher assumes that the practice of learning non-moral subjects, especially Bahasa Indonesia in XYZ School, indirectly can be a medium of learning values, namely through the reading of short stories. The researcher takes six short stories from the 2009-2014 Cerpen Pilihan Kompas which are discussed by participant students in the orientation of social, aesthetic, economic, political, theoretical and religious values. The extent to which the reading of short story have an effect on value education is assessed by researcher through the hermeneutic spiral method based on of H.G. Gadamer’s dialogical hermeneutics. With this the researcher consider the series of interviews as well as discussions of short stories as a text. From it researcher identifies participants' prejudices (horizon) as well as their understanding (fusion of horizon) of short stories in terms of values orientation. The researcher concludes that the values education on the short story reading occurs when the reader intellectually responds to the messages of the text with their personal context and identifies it as a meaning for their life. The substance is the development of participant understanding in which they able to transcend the literal meaning of the text and contextualizes it to the actual event or as a reflection of their own experience
