Abstract

Jika diartikan secara harafiah, kata ‘Budaya’ adalah tindakan berpola dari manusia dalam masyarkat tertentu. Bisa dibilang, budaya adalah identitas dari kelompok masyarakat atau suku. Budaya masing-masing suku tentunya berbeda dan unik dengan caranya sendiri. Karena hal ini, budaya harus dilestarikan dan dianggap sebagai kekayaan yang harus dijaga. Sedihnya, seiring berkembangnya zaman, masyarakat banyak yang sudah meninggalkan budayanya. Film pendek Sian Kong ini merupakan pengingat akan masyarakat Tionghoa soal budayanya yang hampir punah. Dengan visualisasi dan suara yang sudah ditata sedemikian rupa agar terlihat menarik, penulis berharap budaya Sian Kong yang terdapat dalam film ini bisa diingat kembali oleh masyarakat terutama anak-anak muda jaman sekarang. Film ini telah dibuat berdasarkan riset yang dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, mengutip literatur dan refrensi seni, dan juga artikel-artikel yang menyangkut Sian Kong. / If taken literally, the word "culture" is a patterned action of humans in a particular society. In a way, culture is the identity of a community or ethnic group. The culture of each tribe is certainly different and unique in its own way. Hence, culture must be preserved and considered as wealth that must be preserved. Sadly, with the development of the times, many people have left their culture. This short film Sian Kong is a reminder of the Chinese community about its nearly extinct culture. With visualization and sound that have been arranged in such a way as to make it look aesthetically pleasing, the writer hopes that the Sian Kong culture contained in this film can be remembered again by the public, especially young people today. This film has been made based on research conducted by means of interviews, citing literature and art references, as well as articles concerning Sian Kong.
