Abstract

Background: Learning motivation is an encouragement or willingness to learn that students can achieve optimally. Motivation can be a driving force of learning that manifested by the attention of students in following the hybrid learning model. Hybrid learning is a combination of online learning models and face-to-face learning. At UPH especially Faculty of Nursing has already use the hybrid learning models so the researchers interested in examining how student’s learning motivation using hybrid learning models. Research Objective: To find an overview of the learning motivation of Faculty of Nursing students in Pelita Harapan University in learning using hybrid learning model. Research Methods This study used a descriptive quantitative research method. The population in this research is all eighth semester Faculty of Nursing UPH students. The sampling technique is total sampling of 382 students, but only 207 students were willing to be respondent. The instrument in the study used a questionnaire containing 31 questions related to learning motivation taken from the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) which is translated to Bahasa Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is univariateanalysis. Collected data was conducted in 13th-30th of May 2020. Research Results: The results showed that 70% students have high learning motivation and 29,5% students have medium learning motivation. Recommendation: According to the research results, hybrid learning model should be maintained. For future researchers, research should be conducted relating to student achievement or comparison with other learning models.
