Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemaknaan lirik lagu “Tiba–Tiba Batu” karya Efek Rumah Kaca sebagai kritik atas berita bohong dan ujaran kebencian. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena sosial menggunakan metode semiotika Roland Barthes. Setelah melakukan analisis menggunakan metode semiotika Roland Barthes, Penulis menemukan lima makna kritik atas berita bohong dan ujaran kebencian. Pertama, menyaring informasi terlebih dahulu sebelum menyampaikan sesuatu agar informasi yang disampaikan tidak menyesatkan merupakan hal yang harus dilakukan. Kedua, orang harus belajar untuk melihat suatu informasi dari sudut pandang orang lain, karena informasi yang disampaikan tidak selalu tentang kepentingan pribadi. Ketiga, jadikan akhlak sebagai pusat pemikiran dan perilaku. Keempat, jangan menjadikan diri sendiri sebagai pusat kebenaran, apalagi jika kebencian masih menjadi pusat pemikiran dan perilaku. Kelima, jangan mudah terprovokasi agar tidak tersulut emosi dan melakukan ujaran kebencian. / This study aims to determine the meaning of the lyrics of the song Tiba - Tiba Batu by Efek Rumah Kaca as a criticism of fake news and hate speech. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative, aiming to understand social phenomena using Roland Barthes’ semiotics method. After analyzing using Roland Barthes' semiotics method, the author finds five meanings of criticism of fake news and hate speech. First, filtering information before submitting something so that the information conveyed is not misleading is something that must be done. Second, people must learn to see information from the perspective of others, because the information conveyed is not always about personal interests. Third, make morality the center of thought and behavior. Fourth, do not make yourself the center of truth, especially if hatred is still the center of thought and behavior. Fifth, do not be easily provoked so as not to get emotional and make hate speech.
