Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan distribusi perokok >15 tahun terbanyak di ASEAN dengan peningkatan prevalensi perokok aktif sebanyak 9.1% di kelompok usia 18 tahun. Selain meningkatkan risiko berbagai penyakit seperti stroke, hipertensi, obesitas, dan sebagainya; merokok juga dapat meningkatkan kerusakan eksternal pada mata. Jika memiliki intensitas kerusakan yang tinggi, hal ini dapat menggangu aktivitas sehari-hari individu di kelompok usia 18-24 tahun. Mengetahui dampak paparan asap rokok aktif terhadap keluhan yang dirasakan pada mata kelompok usia 18-24 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian potong lintang. Sampel penelitian merupakan dewasa muda berusia 18-24 tahun minimal sebanyak 116 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria diambil secara consecutive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner google form Eye Symptoms Questionnaire dan Indeks Brinkmann. Uji statistik yang akan digunakan adalah chi square, dengan pengolahan data menggunakan SPSS 24. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara paparan asap rokok aktif dengan risiko terjadinya keluhan pada mata intensitas sedang-berat berupa terbakar, gatal, kesilauan, pandangan kabur, kemerahan, dan nyeri, pada kelompok usia 18-24 tahun. / Indonesia is the country with the largest distribution of smokers above the age 15 in ASEAN with an increase in the prevalence of active smokers by 9.1% in the 18 year age group. Apart from increasing the risk of various diseases such as stroke, hypertension, obesity, etc; smoking can also cause external damage to the eyes. If the intensity of damage is large, it can interfere with the daily activities of individuals in the 18-24 year age group. Conducted to determine the impact of active cigarette smoke exposure to complaints felt in the eyes of the 18-24 year age group. This study used a cross-sectional research design. The sample of this research is young adults aged 18-24 years with at least 116 samples who meet the criteria, taken by consecutive sampling. Data collection was done using a google questionnaire form the Eye Symptoms Questionnaire and the Brinkmann Index. The statistical test that will be used is chi square, with data processing using SPSS 24. This study shows a significant relationship between exposure to active cigarette smoke and the risk of developing moderate-to-severe eye complaints in the form of burning, itching, glare, blurred vision, redness, and pain, in the 18-24 year age group in Jabodetabek area.
