Abstract

For a company, leadership style is one of the most important factors for the sustainability and progress of the company. Leadership style is a characteristic of leaders when providing motivation, guidance, and direction in order to improve employee performance. This research was conducted at PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada, a company engaged in the contractor and construction sector located in Medan. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of autocratic leadership style on employee performance at PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada in Medan. The population of this study was all employees of PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada. A total of 42 samples were selected through the saturated sampling technique. The research instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. This research uses descriptive, quantitative, and causal methods. The analytical methods used in this research are validity, reliability, descriptive statistics, classical assumption test, simple linear regression test, coefficient of determination test, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study are the authoritarian leadership style has a positive and significant influence on the performance of employees at PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada. In the determination test, it is known that the influence of the authoritarian leadership style is 85.8% on employee performance. Hypothesis testing in this study also shows that the authoritarian leadership style has an influence on the performance of PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada in Medan./Bagi suatu perusahaan, gaya kepemimpinan merupakan salah satu faktor terpenting dalam keberlangsungan dan kemajuan perusahaan. Gaya kepemimpinan merupakan karakteristik pemimpin saat memberikan motivasi, bimbingan, dan arahan agar dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada, perusahaan yang bergerak dalam sektor kontraktor dan pembangunan yang berlokasi di Medan. Tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan otokratik terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada di Medan. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada. Total dari sampelnya adalah 42 yang dipilih melalui Teknik sampel jenuh. Instrumen penelitian yang dipakai untuk mengumpulkan data adalah kuestioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, kuantitatif, dan kausal. Metode analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji validitas, reliabilitas, statistic deskriptif, uji asumsi klasik, uji regresi linier sederhana, uji koefisien determinasi, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah gaya kepemimpinan otoriter memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada. Pada uji determinasi, diketahui bahwa pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan otoriter adalah sebesar 85.8% terhadap kinerja karyawan. Uji hipotesis pada penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan otoriter memiliki pengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Swastikalautan Nusapersada di Medan.
