Abstract

One of the factors that can improve employee performance is by giving compensation. Compensation can be in the from of salary or wages, incentive, allowance, and facility. PT Cipta Prima Perabot in Medan is a company which engaged in furniture manufacturing. The employees in the company has a decreased performance in Q4 2020 caused by their compensation is having reduction. Compensation is all income in the form of money, direct or indirect material that is given to the employee in return for being given to the company. Employee performance is a work result that is gained by someone in doing their job assigned by the company. The method used by the writer in this research is descriptive method and causal method. The type of research used is quantitative research. Data analysis method used in the research are descriptive statistic, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, linear regression test and hypothesis testing using T-test. The writer conducted the research by using census method with 40 employees of PT Cipta Prima Perabot as the respondents by distributing questionnaire. The pre-test was done with 30 respondents from PT Matahari Department Store Binjai. Result of the study shows that. The rate of compensation effects employee performance is 27,6% and the remaining 72,4% is effected by other variables outside the research. compensation does have an effect towards employee performance with hypothesis T-test is 3.807 which is higher than the ttable (2.021) wherealternative hypothesis is accepted. PT. Cipta Prima Perabot should remain consistent in giving compensation especially salary to the employees in order to improve employee performance in the company./Salah satu faktor yang dapat meningkatkan kinerja pegawai adalah dengan pemberian kompensasi. Kompensasi dapat berupa gaji atau upah, insentif, tunjangan, dan fasilitas. PT Cipta Prima Perabot di Medan adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur perabotan. Karyawan di perusahaan mengalami penurunan kinerja pada Q4 2020 yang disebabkan oleh pengurangan kompensasi. Kompensasi adalah semua pendapatan dalam bentuk uang, materi langsung atau tidak langsung yang diberikan kepada karyawan sebagai imbalan atas pemberiannya kepada perusahaan. Kinerja karyawan merupakan hasil kerja yang diperoleh seseorang dalam melaksanakan pekerjaannya yang diberikan oleh perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan metode kausal. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji regresi linier dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Penulis melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode sensus dengan responden 40 karyawan PT Cipta Prima Perabot dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Pre-test dilakukan dengan 30 responden dari PT Matahari Department Store Binjai.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa. Tingkat pengaruh kompensasi terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 27,6% dan sisanya 72,4% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian. kompensasi memang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan uji hipotesis T sebesar 3,807 lebih tinggi dari T tabel (2,021) dimana hipotesis alternatif diterima. PT. Cipta Prima Perabot harus tetap konsisten dalam memberikan kompensasi khususnya gaji kepada karyawan guna meningkatkan kinerja karyawan di perusahaan.
