Abstract

PT. Sari Tani Sumatera is a company engaged in the processing of cassava to produce tapioca starch, which was founded by an entrepreneur named Adenan Samin. The phenomenon in the company is the increase of turnover intention which might be caused of work life conflict. Turnover intention is the number of total employees who are replaced during a certain period of time and is drawn as percentage, while work life conflict is form of inter-role conflict in oneself which the role came from the work and family which are incompatible in oneself. The objective of the research is to know the effect of work life conflict to turnover intention. The method used in this research is associative quantitative, and data analysis used is simple linear regression. The population in this research is all permanent employees of PT.Sari Tani Sumatera which is amounted to 57 employees. The sample is taken by census sampling so that all the population will be used as sample. The coefficient of determinant showed that 49.7% variable turnover intention can be explained by work life conflict, while 50.3% can be caused by other variables outside the research. The hypothesis test showed that tcount = 7.510 and ttable = 2.00404 (tcount > ttable) and the significance 0.000 is lower than 0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, and it means that the Work-life conflict has effect on turnover intention at PT.Sari Tani Sumatera. The company should pay attention about the work life conflict that might happen and try to give some solutions to employees, such as leaders in the company to make clear communication to all his subordinates to prevent the misunderstandings./PT. Sari Tani Sumatera adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang pengolahan singkong untuk menghasilkan tepung tapioka yang didirikan oleh seorang pengusaha bernama Adenan Samin. Fenomena yang terjadi di perusahaan adalah meningkatnya turnover intention yang mungkin disebabkan oleh konflik kehidupan kerja. Turnover intention adalah jumlah total karyawan yang diganti selama periode waktu tertentu dan ditarik sebagai persentase, sedangkan work life conflict adalah bentuk konflik antar peran dalam diri yang peran tersebut berasal dari pekerjaan dan keluarga yang tidak sesuai dengan diri sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh work life conflict terhadap turnover intention. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif asosiatif, dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan tetap PT.Sari Tani Sumatera yang berjumlah 57 karyawan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara sensus sampling sehingga seluruh populasi akan dijadikan sampel. Koefisien determinan menunjukkan bahwa 49,7% variabel turnover intention dapat dijelaskan oleh konflik kehidupan kerja, sedangkan 50,3% dapat disebabkan oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 7,510 dan ttabel = 2,00044 (thitung > ttabel) dan signifikansi 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. Dengan demikian H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti Work- life conflict berpengaruh terhadap turnover intention pada PT.Sari Tani Sumatera. Perusahaan harus memperhatikan konflik kehidupan kerja yang mungkin terjadi dan mencoba memberikan beberapa solusi kepada karyawan, seperti pemimpin di perusahaan untuk membuat komunikasi yang jelas kepada semua bawahannya untuk mencegah kesalahpahaman.
