Abstract

Based on observations and interviews with the HRD manager and several staffs at Favehotel Medan, it can be seen that there has been a decline in employee performance. This may be due to the lack of reward given by company to its employees, such as: bonus, birthday reward (money or off work), discipline fee reward, etc for those who excel with satisfactory work results. Employees tend to be more driven if they get something they're more enthused about at work. The corporation is motivated to demonstrate its respect to its own employee by offering its employee what they should receive and give extra to the employee when necessary. The research design of this research is quantitative descriptive design. The sample was 40 employees in Favehotel Medan based on census sampling method. The data analysis method consist of validity test, reliability test, descriptive statistics, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, linear regression analysis, determination test, and t-test. Based on the data analysis, the coefficient of linear regression = 0.708 (positive). This means that rewards (X) has positive influence towards front Office Staff Performance (Y). The result of correlation test shows that rewards is having a positive correlation with front Office Staff Performance. The result of T- test shows that rewards has a significant positive influence towards front Office Staff Performance. The company is suggested to give more attention about non-financial rewards, such as authority, appreciation and appointment of employees as company representatives. The company is also suggested to give more attention about discipline factor because it is a process of employees controlling his behavior and actions, through self-motivation./ Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara dengan manajer HRD dan beberapa staff di Favehotel Medan, diketahui bahwa terjadi penurunan kinerja karyawan.
