Abstract

Sebagian besar siswa TK A di sekolah Global Sevilla Puri Indah menunjukkan kendala saat mengerjakan tugas di sekolah yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan motorik halus, menulis permulaan dan kemandirian. Oleh sebab itu guru menerapkan kegiatan Practical Life dari Montessori sebagai salah satu solusi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus, kemampuan menulis permulaan dan kemandirian siswa TK A di sekolah Global Sevilla Puri Indah, serta mengidentifikasi kendala yang muncul selama proses penerapan dan cara mengatasinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 23 siswa kelas TK A di sekolah Global Sevilla Puri Indah. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, catatan lapangan, dan lembar instrumen penelitian yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kegiatan practical life Montessori berjalan dengan baik dan meliputi 3 ciri khas kegiatan dari program Montessori, yaitu: kegiatan gerakan dasar, kegiatan mengurus diri sendiri dan kegiatan mengurus rumah tangga, (2) Kegiatan practical life Montessori berpengaruh tinggi terhadap keterampilan motorik halus dengan N- Gain sebesar 0,77, kemampuan menulis permulaan dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,80, dan kemandirian dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,79 (3) Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan kegiatan practical life yaitu, siswa masih awam dengan tata cara penggunaan material, waktu kegiatan yang pendek, persiapan material, serta pembagian kelompok dihadapi dengan memberikan tanggung jawab penggunaan material practical life, serta membagi kelompok sesuai dengan jumlah siswa yang hadir / The majority of KG2 children in Global Sevilla Puri Indah showed that they had difficulty in carrying out tasks related to fine motor skills, early writing skills and independency. This made the teacher reflects and chooses Montessori’s Practical Life as the solution. This study aims to improve fine motor skills, early writing skills and independency of KG2 children in Global Sevilla Puri Indah and to identify obstacles appeared along the way and how to solve it. The study used Class Action Research (CAR) with 23 KG2 children in Global Sevilla Puri Indah as research subjects. Data were collected through observations, field notes and research instrument sheets that analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The result shows that: (1) Montessori’s Practical Life ran well and includes 3 distinguished activities: primary movements, care of the person and management of the household. (2) Montessori’s Practical Life is influential to fine motor skills with N-Gain score 0.77, early writing skills with N-Gain score 0.80, and independency with N-Gain score 0.79. (3) Obstacles appeared during this study are: children’s unfamiliarity with material usage procedures, short duration of activities, material preparation and children’s grouping. Those obstacles can be dealt with giving responsibility about Practical Life’s material usage procedures and children’s grouping based on attendance list
