Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu pelajaran pokok yang diujikan dalam Ujian Nasional tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Guna meningkatkan kinerja siswa dalam pelajaran Matematika ini, peneliti mencoba menerapkan sebuah metode pembelajaran yang lebih berpusat pada siswa untuk menggantikan metode pengajaran konvensional. Di dalam penelitian ini, peneliti berusaha meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa dalam pelajaran Matematika dengan mengimplementasikan salah satu Pembelajaran Kooperatif, yaitu STAD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mendeskripsikan bagaimana mengimplementasikan Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe STAD di dalam kelas; (2) menganalisis peningkatan motivasi siswa; (3) menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 3 siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 29 siswa kelas IV di sekolah XYZ di Tangerang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, angket survei, catatan lapangan, dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi Pembelajaran Kooperatif STAD dapat diimplementasikan dengan baik di dalam kelas. Strategi ini juga meningkatkan motivasi 100% siswa di dalam kelas. 96.5% dari seluruh siswa di dalam kelas pun mengalami kenaikan hasil belajar. Rata-rata kelas pada post test jika dibandingkan dengan pretest, meningkat sebanyak 185%. / Mathematics is one of the core subjects that is tested in the National Exam in Primary School. To improve students’ performance on this subject, the researcher attempted to employ a more student-centered teaching method to replace the conventional one. In this research, the researcher tried to make an improvement of students’ motivation and academic achievement in Mathematics by implementing Cooperative Learning (STAD). This research had some purposes of study which are (1) to describe how to implement Cooperative Learning (STAD) in the class; (2) to analyze the students’ motivation after Cooperative Learning (STAD) is implemented; (3) to analyze the students’ academic achievement after Cooperative Learning (STAD) is implemented. This is an action research which implemented 3 cycles. The subjects of the study are 29 grade IV students in XYZ school in Tangerang. The collection of data was done by observation, questionnaire, interview, field notes, and test. The result of the study shows that Cooperative Learning STAD can be implemented in class well. Besides, there is an improvement in students’ motivation that the motivation of 100% of the class improved. The academic achievement of 96.5% of the students also improved. The class average from the pretest to the post test is improving by 185%.
