Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif penting karena selain sebagai manifestasi proses berpikir, juga dibutuhkan dalam proses pengalaman belajar anak yang bermanfaat bagi kehidupannya bersama lingkungan. Kegiatan bercerita dapat memberikan pengalaman baik bagi siswa untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir. Pertanyaan yang diuji dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah kegiatan bercerita dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, keterampilan mengembangkan cerita, serta bagaimana tanggapan siswa terhadap kegiatan bercerita. Penelitian ini menerapkan pre-eksperimental One Group Pretest- Posttest Design, dengan menggunakan instrumen rating scale dan angket untuk pengumpulan data penelitian. Pendekatakan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa Kelas VII.1 SMP ABC Jakarta Timur. Analisis data menggunakan N-gain untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa dan keterampilan mengembangkan cerita siswa meningkat dengan kategori N-gain tinggi. Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa 75% siswa Kelas VII.1 yang berjumlah 24 siswa menyukai kegiatan bercerita dan mengembangkan cerita / Creative thinking skills are important as the manifestation of the thinking process, it is also required in children's learning experiences process, which is beneficial for their life. The purpose of this study is to determine how storytelling effects students’ creative thinking skills and their ability to develop stories in Bahasa Indonesia class. The participants of the study consist of 24 students from SMP ABC, Jakarta. The pre-experimental with one-group pretest and posttest design were used in this research. The data were collected through questionnaires and were analyzed using the N-gain with quantitative approach. The analysis result showed that students’ creative thinking skills and the ability to develop stories were increased. The questionnaire showed that 75 of percent students in grade seven enjoy the storytelling method and able to develop the stories
