Abstract

Keterlibatan siswa merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam upaya mencapai tujuan pendidikan Kristen. Berdasarkan hasil observasi pada PPL 2 ditemukan bahwa tidak mudah untuk melibatkan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Siswa cenderung pasif, kurang berinisiatif, dan tidak tertarik untuk terlibat dalam pembelajaran. Solusi yang diberikan untuk masalah ini ialah penerapan metode game dan problem based learning. Kedua metode tersebut merupakan metode pembelajaran aktif yang menyenangkan dan mengajak siswa untuk berpikir Kritis. Dipilihnya metode sebagai variabel pemecahan masalah berdasarkan pada hasil kajian epistemologi terhadap pentingnya dan peranan metode pembelajaran dalam pendidikan Kristen. Kajian tersebut ditulis berdasarkan pada Alkitab sebagai satu-satunya sumber kebenaran yang mutlak. Tulisan ini dibuat untuk memaparkan dampak penerapan metode game dan problem based learning terhadap keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan portofolio PPL2 dan sumber lain yang relevan. Dalam hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa setelah penerapan metode game dan problem based learning siswa semakin berinisiatif, mau bertanya, memperhatikan penjelasan dan menjawab pertanyaan guru. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah meneliti pengaruh penerapan metode ini terhadap kualitas keterlibatan siswa di kelas dan atau terhadap aspek lainnya di dalam ruang lingkup pendidikan./Student engagement is one of the important aspect in achieving Christian education goals. Based on the observation during PPL2 found that it is not easy to involve students in learning. Students tend to be passive, less initiative, and uninterested in engaging in learning. The solution given to this problem is the game and problem-based learning method. Both methods are active learning method that are fun and invite student to think critically. The choice of methods as problem-solving variables is based on epistemological studies result of the importance and role of learing methods in Christian education. The study was written based on Bible as the absolute source of truth. This paper was created to explain the impact of game and problem-based learning methods on student engagement in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The method used in this study is qualitatively descriptive based on PPL2 portfolio and other relevant sources. This study results obtained, after the application of game and problem-based learning methods student have ore initiative, want to ask, pay attention and answer teacher questions. The advice for future research is to examine the effect of these methods on the quality of student engagement in the classroom and/or other aspects in education.
