Abstract

Dalam pembangunan jalan di Indonesia campuran aspal biasanya digunakan adalah teknologi campuran aspal panas / Hot mix Asphalt (HMA) yang diproduksi dengan suhu tinggi di sekitar 150°C-190°C, Hal ini mengakibatkan permasalahan pada lingkungan karena jumlah energi yang digunakan tinggi serta emisi yang dihasilkan juga tinggi. Sehingga muncul salah satu alternatif lain yaitu campuran aspal hangat/ Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) dikarenakan energi yang lebih rendah dibandingkan HMA, akan tetapi permasalahan belum selesai sampai di sini karena akibat suhu pencampuran dan pemadatan yang lebih rendah dari HMA hal ini menyebabkan WMA lebih rentan terhadap kelembaban yang membuat pengelupasan.Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan penambahan dengan polimer. Pada penelitian ini ditunjukan untuk menganalisis efek dari modifikasi WMA yang dengan metode pencampuran dry method (PMA) yang dicampur dengan berbagai kadar polimer (0%,4%,5%,6%) superplast produksi Iterchemica untuk mengatasi masalah moisture damage. Peninjauan terhadap moisture damage yang dilakukan disimulasikan berdasarkan (ASTM D1075-1) dengan melakukan perendaman pada air di suhu 60°C selama 24 jam lalu direndam pada air di suhu 25°C dan dalam keadaan kering.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai yang dihasilkan dari setiap parameter pada kondisi polimer 5% terjadi kenaikan pada fracture energy, fracture toughness, flexibility index, serta crack resistance index dari campuran tanpa polimer dan penurunan pada campuran memiliki polimer 6% akan tetapi pada nilai strain yang paling baik ada di penambahan polimer 4%. Sehingga menunjukan dengan penambahan produk polimer superplast dapat membantu meminimalisir efek dari moisture damage dengan didapati kadar 5% sebagai kadar optimum.// In road construction in Indonesia, the most common asphalt production method is Hot mix Asphalt (HMA) technology which is produced at high temperatures around 150°C-190°C. This matter causes problems in the environment because the amount of energy used is high and the emissions produced are also high so there is another alternative called Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) due to lower energy compared to HMA. However, the problem has not been resolved here because of the lower mixing and compaction temperatures of HMA. This makes WMA more susceptible to moisture which makes it peel. Therefore, one of the efforts that can be made is by adding polymer. In this study, the aim of this study was to analyze the effect of WMA modification given chemical additives of the Rediset LQ type with the dry method (PMA) mixing method mixed with various levels of polymer (0%,4%,5%,6%) superplast produced by Iterchemica to overcome moisture damage problem. Moisture damage was simulated based on (ASTM D1075-1) by immersing it in water at 60°C for 24 hours and then soaking it in water at 25°C and dry.
