Abstract

Budaya Resto is a typical Indonesian family dining restaurant located in the Medan Tanjung Morawa. Budaya Resto has been established since five years ago, in 2016. Based on Googke Review, the writer found problems such as some bad reviews from customers who were dissatisfied with the services provided by the restaurant. The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of motivation and work environment on employees’ performance, partially and simultaneously. Work environment plays a very important role in the physical and psychological state of employees. A good work environment will increase employee motivation as well as employees’ work performance. Thus, it can improve the performance of the restaurant. This research was conducted with quantitative methods. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to the research sample. Sampling was done by Saturation Sampling, totaling 32 people, namely all employees of Budaya Resto, Medan. The results of this study have passed validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, and multiple linear regression tests. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, motivation has partially influence employees’ performance at Budaya Resto, Medan. Work environment does not have partial influence on employees’ performance at Budaya Resto, Medan. Motivation and work environment have simultaneously influence employees’ performance at Budaya Resto, Medan. Recommendations for restaurants are that the restaurant must execute praise, appreciation, and rewards to motivate employees. Also, restaurants can ask for ideas and include employees’ opinions on what things need to be improved in order to achieve better performance./Budaya Resto adalah restoran makan keluarga khas Indonesia yang terletak di Medan Tanjung Morawa. Budaya Resto sudah berdiri sejak lima tahun yang lalu yaitu pada tahun 2016. Berdasarkan Googke Review, penulis menemukan permasalahan seperti beberapa review buruk dari pelanggan yang tidak puas dengan pelayanan yang diberikan oleh pihak restoran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh motivasi dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Lingkungan kerja memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam keadaan fisik dan psikologis karyawan. Lingkungan kerja yang baik akan meningkatkan motivasi karyawan serta kinerja karyawan. Sehingga dapat meningkatkan performa restoran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada sampel penelitian. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampling jenuh, yang berjumlah 32 orang yaitu seluruh karyawan Budaya Resto Medan. Hasil penelitian ini telah lulus uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji multikolinearitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, dan uji regresi linier berganda. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, motivasi berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Budaya Resto Medan. Lingkungan kerja tidak berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap kinerja karyawan di Budaya Resto, Medan. Motivasi dan lingkungan kerja secara simultan mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan di Budaya Resto Medan. Rekomendasi untuk restoran adalah restoran harus memberikan pujian, penghargaan, dan penghargaan untuk memotivasi karyawan. Selain itu, restoran dapat meminta ide dan memasukkan pendapat karyawan tentang hal-hal apa yang perlu diperbaiki untuk mencapai kinerja yang lebih baik.
