Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic limits the space for movement, makes the distance between individuals even further and makes face-to-face interactions difficult. Therefore, many activities must adapt boldly using digital technology such as video conferencing. The response and fatigue level of students who utilize the video conferencing function in their learning process need to be carried out as an evaluation so that the productivity and effectiveness of learning can increase in the future. Stanford University and the University of Gothenburg have explained things about virtual interactions during the pandemic through research entitled "Zoom Exhaustion & Fatigue Scale". This research is synonymous with the term 'Zoom Fatigue' (ZF). It is used to overcome fatigue experienced after using online devices for too long. Moreover, similar studies in the Indonesian population do not exist yet. Research Objectives: To find out the response and level of fatigue in preclinical students of UPH medical faculty regarding the online learning method using the ZEF scale. Methods: This research was conducted using a cross-sectional descriptive study design, using 176 samples selected by the non-probability purposive sampling method. Research data will be obtained using the Zoom Exhaustion & Fatigue Scale questionnaire. Results: There were 176 samples consisting of 66% women and 34% men. From 5 constructs of fatigue, the average was found to be 2-3 using a Likert scale. The perceived fatigue is also influenced by additional factors such as attitude, frequency, duration, and intensity that are relatively high in this study. GF is the most significant perceived fatigue compared to other fatigue constructs. Conclusion: UPH FK preclinical students feel fatigue feel tired when using online video conferencing as a form of adaptation of learning methods. Keywords: Fatigue, Zoom Exhaustion & Fatigue Scale, video conferencing, and daring.
