Abstract

Language skills and interest in learning need to be developed from an early age, especially for kindergarten 2 students in preparing themselves for first grade. K2 students at school X BSD have low language skills and interest in learning. Previous researches have shown that inventive spelling strategy can improve language skills and interest in learning. Therefore, this research was conducted to fix problems in the K2 class of X BSD school. This study aims to analyse the implementation of inventive spelling strategies in developing language skills and interest in learning for K2 students at X BSD School. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This CAR consists of three cycles by carrying out the stages of planning, observation, action, and reflection in each cycle. The research participants were K2 students at X BSD School which consisted of 13 people. The research instrument uses an assessment rubric to measure students' language skills and interest in learning. The results showed that there was an increase in students' language skills and interest in learning. The average value of language skills in cycle one was 66.32, cycle two was 84.55, and cycle three was 81.42. The average value of student interest in learning in the first cycle was 59.89, second cycle 81.25, and the third cycle 80.21. The results indicated an increase, although the results of the second cycle to the third cycle decreased. However, if the value is seen individually, then there is an increase from cycle one to cycle three. Therefore, the results of this study show that inventive spelling strategy can improve the language skills and learning interest of K2 students at School X BSD. / Keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar perlu dikembangkan sejak usia dini, terlebih untuk siswa TK B dalam mempersiapkan dirinya ke kelas satu. Siswa TK B di sekolah X memiliki keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar yang masih rendah. Penelitian terdahulu membuktikan bahwa strategi ejaan inventif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan agar memperbaiki masalah di dalam kelas TK B sekolah X BSD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan strategi ejaan inventif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar siswa tingkat TK B di Sekolah X BSD. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). PTK ini terdiri dari tiga siklus dengan melakukan tahapan perencanaan, obervasi, tindakan, dan refleksi pada setiap siklus. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa TK B Sekolah X BSD yang terdiri dari 13 orang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan rubrik penilaian untuk mengukur keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar siswa. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan berbahasa pada siklus satu adalah 66,32, pada siklus dua 84,55, dan pada siklus tiga 81,42. Nilai rata-rata minat belajar siswa pada siklus satu adalah 59, 89, pada siklus dua 81, 25, dan pada siklus tiga 80, 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan, meskipun hasil siklus dua ke siklus tiga mengalami penurunan. Namun demikian, apabila nilai tersebut dilihat secara individu, maka terdapat peningkatan dari siklus satu hingga siklus tiga. Oleh karena itu, hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa strategi ejaan inventif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa dan minat belajar siswa TK B di Sekolah X BSD.
