Abstract

Employees are one of the resources in a company that has sentiments, wants, knowledge, and encouragement; hence, employees are one of the most precious investments in a company and play an essential part in deciding the firm's success or failure. Many elements, including the leadership style of their manager and motivation from employees itself can have an impact on employee performance. A good motive and the character of a manager may inspire employees to use their best talents and abilities to help the organization achieve its goals. In this research, the writer will find out whether leadership style and motivation do affect employee performance at PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK, Kisaran. The research design for this research is a quantitative method. In analyzing the data, the methods used are descriptive statistical analysis, research instrument test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis test and determination test. The population and sample of the company are 53 people and the sampling technique is census sampling which all of the population are used as samples. Based on the result of the research, the conclusion of the research is leadership style and motivation do affect simultaneously on employees’ performance at PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK, Kisaran. From the test conducted, the result shows that the data is normally distributed, has linear relationship and is free of heteroscedasticity. An equation that was obtained is Y = 2.710 + 0.349X1 + 0.598X2. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.587 which indicates that 58.7% of factors that influence the employee performance at PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK, Kisaran is leadership style and motivation while the other 41.3% is affected by other factors that are not analyzed in this research. / Karyawan adalah salah satu sumber daya dalam perusahaan yang memiliki sentimen, keinginan, pengetahuan, dan dorongan; karenanya, karyawan adalah salah satu investasi paling berharga di perusahaan dan memainkan peran penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan atau kegagalan perusahaan. Banyak elemen, termasuk gaya kepemimpinan manajer mereka dan motivasi dari karyawan itu sendiri dapat berdampak pada kinerja karyawan. Motif yang baik dan karakter seorang manajer dapat menginspirasi karyawan untuk menggunakan bakat dan kemampuan terbaik mereka untuk membantu organisasi mencapai tujuannya. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan mengetahui apakah gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai pada PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK Kisaran. Desain penelitian untuk penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Dalam menganalisis data, metode yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif, uji instrumen penelitian, uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi linier berganda, uji hipotesis dan uji determinasi. Populasi dan sampel perusahaan adalah 53 orang dan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sensus sampling dimana seluruh populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK Kisaran. Dari pengujian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa data berdistribusi normal, memiliki hubungan linier dan bebas heteroskedastisitas. Persamaan yang diperoleh adalah Y = 2,710 + 0,349X1 + 0,598X2. Koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,587 yang menunjukkan bahwa 58,7% faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja pegawai pada PT Bank Mestika Dharma TBK Kisaran adalah gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi sedangkan 41,3% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak dianalisis dalam penelitian ini.
