Abstract

The problem obtained after making observations at Pelita Harapan University Medan is that the inventory of goods in the management and recording of goods is still using the Microsoft Excel application. This study aims to develop an inventory system at Pelita Harapan University Medan to record and manage goods and reduce data loss. Designing a website is the solution to make it easier for inventory staff to enter data. The method for developing this website is to use the waterfall model which consists of five stages, namely Planning, Requirements Analysis, System/Software Design, Implementation, and Unit Testing. The website that is built includes several sections including homepage/dashboard, registration of item code and item type code and can also enter stock items, incoming items and notes. All data stored on the website will be entered into the cloud where the data will be very safe. The result of this research is a system that has been implemented into the website so that it can be used to facilitate the recording and management of goods at Pelita Harapan University Medan./ Masalah yang didapatkan setelah melakukan observasi di Universitas Pelita Harapan Kampus Medan adalah staff inventaris barang dalam pengelolaan dan pencatatan barang masih menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Excel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah sistem inventaris barang di Universitas Pelita Harapan Kampus Medan untuk memudahkan pencatatan dan pengelolaan barang serta mengurangi resiko kehilangan data. Merancang sebuah website adalah solusinya untuk memudahkan staff inventaris barang untuk memasukkan data. Metode untuk mengembangan website ini adalah dengan menggunakan model waterfall yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu Planning, Requirement Analysis, System/Software Design, Implementation, and Unit Testing. Website yang dibangun mencakup beberapa bagian termasuk homepage/dashboard, pendaftaran kode barang dan kode jenis barang dan juga dapat menginput stok barang, barang masuk, barang keluar serta notes. Semua data yang disimpan dalam website akan dimasukkan ke dalam cloud yang dimana data tersebut akan sangat aman. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sistem yang telah diimplementasikan kedalam website sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mempermudah pencatatan dan pengelolaan barang di Universitas Pelita Harapan Kampus Medan.
