Abstract

The food and beverage industry is constantly developing, including the restaurant industry. Hence, it is important to give the best dining experience, including motivation and Training, and to gain competitive advantages, such as employee performance. The research period is from January – April 2022. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of motivation and Training at Gala Seafood Medan. This research also aims to identify the influence of motivation and Training towards employee performance. This research was conducted using quantitative, descriptive, and causal approaches. The target population is employees of Gala Seafood Medan, and 32 employees were sampled through sensus sampling. Data is collected by distributing questionnaires to employees of Gala Seafood Medan The result of the T-test shows that T value of service quality and product quality, are 0.046 and 0.000 which is lower than 0.05 consecutively. H1 and H2 are accepted. The result of the F-test is F value is 0.000 <0.05 therefore H3 is accepted. As the value of Coefficient of Determination is 70.7%, this means that the employee training and motivation, contribute to the employee performance for as much as 70.7%, meaning that the dependent variable is effect d by the independent variables by 70.7%, while the other 29.3% is effect d by other factors not mentioned in this research. Recommendations for Gala seafood Medan are improved by the procurement of job training by adjusting the work of employees and then existence job evaluation and increase work motivation by providing a satisfactory salary for employees. / Industri makanan dan minuman terus berkembang, termasuk industri restoran. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memberikan pengalaman bersantap terbaik, termasuk motivasi dan pelatihan, dan untuk mendapatkan keunggulan kompetitif, seperti kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Gala Seafood Medan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan motivasi dan pelatihan di Gala Seafood Medan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh motivasi dan Pelatihan terhadap kinerja karyawan, baik secara individu maupun simultan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, deskriptif, dan kausal. Populasi sasaran adalah karyawan Gala Seafood Medan, dan 32 karyawan diambil sampelnya melalui sensus sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada karyawan Gala Seafood Medan Hasil Uji T menunjukkan bahwa nilai T kualitas pelayanan dan kualitas produk, adalah 0,046 dan 0,000 yang lebih rendah dari 0,05 berturut-turut. H1 dan H2 diterima. Hasil uji F adalah nilai F 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H3 diterima. Karena nilai koefisien determinasi adalah 70,7%, ini berarti bahwa pelatihan dan motivasi karyawan, berkontribusi terhadap kinerja karyawan sebanyak 70,7%, yang berarti bahwa variabel dependen adalah pengaruh d oleh variabel independen sebesar 70,7%, sedangkan 29,3% lainnya adalah pengaruh d oleh faktor-faktor lain yang tidak disebutkan dalam penelitian ini. Rekomendasi untuk Gala seafood Medan ditingkatkan dengan pengadaan pelatihan kerja dengan menyesuaikan pekerjaan karyawan dan kemudian adanya evaluasi pekerjaan dan meningkatkan motivasi kerja dengan memberikan gaji yang memuaskan bagi karyawan.
