Abstract

Diabetes melitus adalah penyakit menahun yang ditandai dengan tingginya kadar glukosa darah akibat terganggunya proses metabolisme di dalam tubuh. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efek antihiperglikemik, dosis efektif, dan metabolit sekunder dari daun pisang raja (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana (Group “AAB”) cv. ‘Pisang Raja’) yang diekstraksi dengan menggunakan metode refluks dan pelarut Etanol 70%. Uji antihiperglikemik dengan metode toleransi glukosa ini menggunakan 25 ekor mencit yang terbagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kontrol negatif, kontrol positif, ekstrak Etanol 70% daun pisang raja dosis 100 mg/KgBB, 300 mg/KgBB, dan 500 mg/KgBB. Hasil yang diperoleh, yaitu % rendemen ekstrak Etanol 70% daun pisang raja sebanyak 17,39% yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, fenol, dan steroid. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Statistical Product and Service (SPSS) dengan uji One-Way ANOVA diperoleh hasil terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p < 0,05) yang menyatakan bahwa ekstrak Etanol 70% daun pisang raja memiliki efektivitas yang baik dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dengan dosis efektif, yaitu dosis 100 mg/KgBB. /Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels due to disruption of metabolic processes in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the antihyperglycemic effect, effective dose, and secondary metabolites of plantain leaves (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana) which were extracted using reflux method and 70% ethanol solvent. The antihyperglycemic test using the glucose tolerance method used 25 mice which were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely negative control, positive control, 70% ethanol extract of plantain leaves at a dose of 100 mg/KgBW, 300 mg/KgBW, and 500 mg/KgBW. The results obtained were 17.39% of the 70% ethanol extract of plantain leaves which contained secondary metabolites of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenols, and steroids. Data analysis was carried out using Statistical Product and Service (SPSS) with One-Way ANOVA test, the results showed that there was a significant difference (p < 0.05) which stated that 70% ethanol extract of plantain leaves had good effectiveness in lowering blood glucose levels with an effective dose, namely a dose of 100 mg/KgBB.
