Abstract

Students are required to participate actively in the learning process so that, the talents that God has given to each student can develop optimally. In fact, there are some students who are less active in the learning process, especially in social studies subjects. This resulted, the role of a professional teacher is needed in teaching, especially in using learning methods. One of the learning methods that can be used by teachers to improve student activity is the question and answer method. The purpose of writing this paper is to look at the application of the question and answer method to the improvement of student activity, especially 9th-grade junior high school students in social studies subjects. Jesus also applied the question and answer method in His teaching, so this method is good for learning. The results of the research conducted by the author, namely the application of the method of answering can increase the activity of 9th-grade junior high school students. Suggestions that the author can give, namely the teacher should prepare questions that can increase student activity. Other suggestions for Christian teachers, it is better for Christian teachers to prepare questions that can increase student activity and bring students to Christ. Suggestions for the school, it is better if the school holds a seminar that can improve the quality of teachers in the application of learning methods./ Siswa dituntut untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam proses belajar agar, talenta yang telah diberikan Tuhan pada setiap diri siswa dapat berkembang secara maksimal. Faktanya, terdapat beberapa siswa yang kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPS. Hal ini mengakibatkan, peran seorang guru yang profesional sangat dibutuhkan dalam mengajar, khususnya dalam menggunakan metode pembelajaran. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa metode tanya jawab. Tujuan penulisan makalah ini untuk melihat penerapan metode tanya jawab terhadap peningkatan keaktifan siswa, khususnya siswa kelas 9 SMP pada mata pelajaran IPS. Yesus juga menerapkan metode tanya jawab dalam pengajaran-Nya, maka, metode ini baik digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan penulis, yaitu penerapan metode taya jawab dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas 9 SMP. Saran yang dapat penulis berikan, yaitu sebaiknya guru menyiapkan pertanyaan yang dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa. Saran lain untuk guru Kristen, ada baiknya guru Kristen menyiapkan pertanyaan yang dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dan membawa siswa Kristus. Saran untuk pihak sekolah, ada baiknya jika sekolah mengadakan seminar yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas guru dalam penerapan metode pembelajaran.
