Abstract

Penelitian ini akan meneliti adanya pengaruh dari perbedaan market dan book leverage terhadap penyesuaian book leverage. Penelitian ini menggunakan data perusahaan yang tercatat dalam Bursa Efek Indonesia pada periode tahun 2000 sampai 2017 dengan model penyesuaian parsial (partial adjustment model) dan metode GMM (generalized method of moments). Menurut hasil penelitian ini perbedaan antara market dan book leverage memiliki pengaruh yang asimetri terhadap penyesuaian book leverage oleh perusahaan. Dalam keadaaan market leverage yang menurun hingga lebih kecil dibandingkan book leverage maka manajer akan melakukan penyesuaian pada book leverage, namun tidak ada perubahan yang terjadi saat market leverage memiliki peningkatan.
