Abstract

Meningkatnya jumlah universitas di Surabaya, diikuti dengan perkembangan rumah kos khususnya di daerah Siwalankerto Surabaya. Akan tetapi, pada sektor jasa termasuk rumah kos, terjadi perilaku pindah yang cukup signifikan. Penelitian terdahulu mengenai faktor push secara positif mempengaruhi switching intention yang kemudian sesuai dengan penemuan awal dalam penelitian ini. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini ingin mengkaji faktor push yang terdiri dari kualitas layanan dan kepuasan dalam mempengaruhi switching intention pada sektor jasa khususnya rumah kos yang masih jarang diteliti dengan menggunakan teori ini. Dengan menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM), penulis ingin melihat pengaruh tiap variabel secara simultan sehingga diketahui dengan jelas switching intention yang dipengaruhi oleh kepuasan dan kualitas layanan serta pengaruhnya pada kepuasan. Pemilihan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah non probability sampling dengan penggunaan teknik Maximum Likelihood dan purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitan ini meliputi pengguna rumah kos di Siwalankerto Surabaya yang terbatas hanya kepada mahasiswa saja mengingat mayoritas pengguna rumah kos di tempat tersebut yaitu mahasiswa. Hasil yang ditemui kemudian mendukung penelitian sebelumnya yaitu kualitas layanan berpengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan, kualitas layanan berpengaruh negatif terhadap switching intention. Kepuasan juga ternyata berpengaruh negatif switching intention rumah kos di Surabaya. Hasil penelitian ini kemudian mengacu pada implikasi teoritis dan impliklasi manajerial. Sebagai implikasi teoritis, pada sektor jasa berskala kecil, khususnya pada rumah kos di Surabaya faktor push yang terdiri dari kualitas layanan dan kepuasan dapat diaplikasikan. Implikasi manajerial dalam penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kualitas layanan yang konsisten dan memberikan pelatihan informal pada pegawai rumah kos di Siwalankerto Surabaya / The increasing number of universities in Surabaya, would be followed by the development of a boarding house, especially in the area Siwalankerto Surabaya. However, in the service sector including boarding houses, there was a significant switching behavior. Previous research on the push factors positively influence the intention of later switching in accordance with earlier findings in this study. Furthermore, this study wanted to examine the push factors that is included service quality and satisfaction in influencing the intention of switching on the service sector particularly the boarding house that is still rarely studied. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM), the author would like to see the influence of each variable simultaneously to be clearly recognizing switching intention that is influenced by the satisfaction and service quality and its influence on satisfaction. The selection of samples in this study is a non probability sampling technique with the use of Maximum Likelihood and purposive sampling. The sample in this research include the user's boarding house in Surabaya Siwalankerto limited only to students considering the majority of users only boarding house in the place of students. The results of this research encountered later supports previous research that service quality has a positive effect on satisfaction, service quality negatively affect the switching intention. Thus, satisfaction was also negatively affecting the switching intention boarding house in Surabaya. The results are then referred to the implications of the theoretical and managerial implications. As the theoretical implications, on a small scale service sector, especially for the boarding house in Surabaya push factors of service quality and satisfaction could be applied. Managerial implications of this research are to improve the quality of service that are consistent and provide informal training to personnel boarding house in Siwalankerto Surabaya
