Abstract

Referensi: 52 (1994-2021) Kata Kunci: Binge-eating disorder, aktivitas fisik, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), Binge Eating Scale (BES) / Background: Based on research conducted at Sam Ratulangi University, the results showed a decrease in the average physical activity during the pandemic from before the pandemic as much as 727.59. Decreased physical activity itself can cause several negative impacts, one of which is increasing anxiety and depression which can lead to eating disorders. Binge-eating disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder with an average prevalence of 47%, compared to other eating disorders as much as 3% are anorexia nervosa, 12% are bulimia nervosa, and 38% are other eating disorders. In Indonesia, there is still no research linking physical activity with binge-eating disorder and research on binge-eating disorder itself is still very limited in Indonesia. Objective: To find out whether there is a relationship between the level of physical activity and binge-eating disorder, especially in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan. Methods: This study is an unpaired categorical comparative analytical observational study by means of a cross-sectional study, which will be done online from March 2022 to June 2022 for students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. This research will be using the International Physical Activity Questionnaires (IPAQ) and the Binge Eating Scale (BES). The results of this study will be processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 25 program which will then be statistically tested using the Spearman's Rho Nonparametric Correlation test. Results: Of the 121 FK UPH students who participated, with 83 (68.6%) was female, and the other 38 (31.4%) was male, it was found that the prevalence of the physical activity level of FK UPH students mostly were minimally active with at least 51 (42.1%) people, with another 43(35.5%) being inactive, and another 27(22.3%) people having an active HEPA level of physical activity. For the prevalence of BED, it was found that FK UPH students who did not experience BED as many as 102 (84.3%) people, with 13 (10.7%) others experiencing mild to moderate BED and 6 (5.0%) others had severe BED. Based on the nonparametric Spearman's Rho correlation test, a p-value of 0.963 was obtained which indicates that there is no relationship between the level of physical activity and binge-eating disorder in Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan students. Conclusion: The highest prevalence of activity level of FK UPH students was minimally active, and most of FK UPH students did not experience BED. There was no relationship between the level of physical activity and binge-eating disorder in FK UPH students with a p-value of 0.963.
