Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi membuat berbagai macam kemudahan bagi masyarakat. Salah satu hasilnya adalah dengan banyaknya perusahaan startup yang sekarang berkembang, terutama juga di Indonesia. Marak diperbincangkan bahwa perusahaan startup memiliki budaya kerja yang sangat khas. Nilai-nilai pada budaya kerja tersebut dianggap cocok dengan generasi muda, terutama generasi milenial yang sedang mendominasi angkatan kerja di masa ini. Hanya saja, belum ditemukan penelitian yang melihat persepsi kalangan profesional muda mengenai budaya kerja pada industri startup, terutama yang ada di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk mendalami persepsi yang sebenarnya terbentuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme, pendekatan fenomenolgi, dan sudut pandang teori konstruksionisme sosial serta konsep budaya kerja. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan wawancara sebagai data primer dan studi kepustakaan sebagai data sekunder. Wawancara dilakukan kepada lima informan yang merupakan bagian dari profesional muda pada industri startup. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan proses dialektika dalam teori konstruksionisme sosial yang berjalan secara simultan dari segala proses interaksi dan upaya perusahaan dalam menanamkan nilai di budaya kerja. Persepsi yang dimiliki oleh kalangan profesional muda mengenai budaya kerja pada industri startup pun dapat disimpulkan mengarah pada penerimaan yang positif. Peneliti juga menemukan tiga karakteristik budaya kerja di perusahaan startup yang paling menonjol, yaitu budaya kerja cepat (fast-paced), fleksibel dan adaptasi, lalu keterbukaan. / It is widely discussed that startup companies have a very distinctive work culture. The values in the work culture are considered suitable for the younger generation, especially the millennial generation, who dominate the workforce now. However, no research has been found that looks at the perceptions of young professionals regarding the work culture of industrial startups, especially those in Indonesia. Therefore, researchers are interested in exploring the perceptions that are formed. This study uses a qualitative method with a constructivism paradigm, a phenomenological approach, and the point of view of social constructionism theory and the concept of work culture. Interviews were conducted with five informants who are part of young professionals in the startup industry. The results explain the dialectical process in the theory of social constructionism that runs simultaneously from all interaction processes and the company's efforts to instill values in the work culture. The perception that young professionals have about working in the startup industry can also lead to a positive reception. The researchers also found three characteristics of the most prominent work culture in startup companies, namely, the fast-paced environment, flexibility, and openness among employees.
