Abstract

Rendahnya keaktifan siswa di dalam kelas merupakan salah satu masalah yang sering terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran. Masalah tersebut juga ditemukan oleh penulis ketika melakukan observasi di salah satu sekolah swasta di Jakarta Pusat. Kurangnya keaktifan siswa di dalam kelas terlihat dari kurangnya siswa yang ikut berdiskusi dalam pembelajaran, siswa yang tidak mengikuti arahan guru, siswa yang tidak mencatat dan membaca materi serta siswa yang tidak berani melakukan presentasi di depan kelas. Adapun, tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keaktifan siswa ketika diterapkan metode jigsaw dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Keaktifan siswa merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dikarenakan keaktifan merupakan salah satu indikator dari pembelajaran yang optimal. Selain itu siswa yang aktif tentu memiliki rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi sehingga dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar dan pengoptimalan terhadap setiap potensi yang siswa miliki. Dalam iman Kristen dipercayai bahwa siswa merupakan imago dei yang memiliki potensi sehingga berbeda dengan ciptaan lainnya. Oleh karena itu dengan melibatkan diri secara aktif dalam pembelajaran menjadi salah satu bentuk tanggung jawab siswa dalam meningkatkan potensi yang diberikan Allah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditunjukan bahwa keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan metode jigsaw. Adapun hal yang perlu diperhatikan oleh guru dalam penerapannya antara lain adalah, alokasi waktu, banyaknya tugas atau materi pembelajaran, serta karakteristik siswa di dalam kelas./ The low activity of students in the classroom is one of the problems that often occurs in the learning process. This problem was also discovered by the author when making observations at a private school in Central Jakarta. The lack of student activity in the classroom can be seen from the lack of students who participate in discussions in learning, students who do not follow the teacher's direction, students who do not take notes and read the material and students who dare not make presentations in front of the class. Meanwhile, the purpose of this writing is to describe student activity when applying the jigsaw method in learning using descriptive qualitative methods. Student activity is one of the important things because activeness is one of the indicators of optimal learning. In addition, active students certainly have a high curiosity so that they can influence learning outcomes and optimize every potential that students have. In the Christian faith it is believed that students are imago dei who have potential so that they are different from other creations. Therefore, actively involving themselves in learning is a form of student responsibility in increasing their God-given potential. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that student activity in learning can be improved through the application of the jigsaw method. The things that need to be considered by teachers in their application include the allocation of time, the number of assignments or learning materials, as well as the characteristics of students in the classroom.
