Abstract

Pemahaman konsep adalah salah satu kecakapan matematis yang merupakan bagian dari kecakapan hidup. Tetapi, dalam prakteknya masih ditemukan siswa yang lemah dalam hal kognitif dan berimbas terhadap hasil formatif 1 yang dilakukan. Kemampuan kognitif mencakup bagaimana kemampuan matematis siswa. Salah satu upaya yang guru coba terapkan adalah Discovery Learning yang diharapkan mampu membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep matematika yang diajarkan di dalam kelas. Guru Kristen tidak hanya berperan mengembangkan pemahaman konsep siswa mengenai ilmu pengetahuan tetapi juga mengenai pemahaman konsep bahwa seluruh bentuk pola, keteraturan yang ada di alam semesta merupakan pemberian dari Allah kepada manusia. Metode yang digunakan penulis adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun sumber data yang digunakan diambil dari hasil belajar siswa, rancangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, serta hasil refleksi. Tetapi pada hasil akhirnya, metode ini belum cukup membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep. Hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan metode discovery learning membantu dalam mengoptimalkan pemahaman konsep siswa tetapi masih terdapat beberapa hal yang belum optimal dalam pengaplikasiannya. Salah satu yang mempengaruhi hal tersebut adalah pemahaman konsep siswa yang belum cukup baik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu setiap guru perlu lebih memperhatikan setiap kebutuhan siswa secara mendalam dan tahapan dalam melakukan pembelajaran di dalam kelas./Conceptual understanding is one of the mathematical skills which is part of life skills. However, in practice students are still found to be weak in cognitive terms and have an impact on the formative 1 results that are carried out. Cognitive abilities include how students' mathematical abilities. One of the efforts that the teacher is trying to implement is Discovery Learning which is expected to be able to help students understand the mathematical concepts taught in class. The Christian teacher does not only play a role in developing students' conceptual understanding of science but also regarding the understanding of the concept that all forms of patterns, regularities that exist in the universe are gifts from God to humans. The method used by the author is descriptive qualitative. The data sources used are taken from student learning outcomes, learning implementation plans, and the results of reflection. But in the end, this method is not enough to help students understand the concept. Student learning outcomes before and after the use of the discovery learning method help in optimizing students' understanding of concepts but there are still some things that are not optimal in their application. One that influences this is students' understanding of concepts that are not good enough in learning mathematics. Therefore every teacher needs to pay more attention to each student's needs in depth and the stages of conducting learning in the classroom.
