Abstract

Living in a developing era makes everything is also developing, especially education. Through educational development, teachers also should develop, especially developing their role. One of the ways that teachers can do is developing their skills through joining the model of teacher’s professional development. But, one of the private schools in Jakarta only knew the importance of teacher’s professionalism, in fact, they are still struggling in implementing the models. After doing the investigation, it proves that the obstacles will have occurred because the teacher does not know their identities well. Whereas, Christian teachers are known as transformation agent that will make the education into the transformation education. If Christian teachers do not experience the transformation itself, they cannot totally become professional teachers. The purpose is to know the importance and to find out the models of teachers' professional development used by a private school in Jakarta. The result shows it is true professional development is needed by teachers in developing their roles. Thus, the researcher divided the recommendation into three parties, such as accommodate the teachers’ needs (school), choose the best models of teachers’ professional development properly (teachers) and dig deeper about this topic (future researchers).
