Abstract

Emerald Garden International Hotel is a four-star hotel, located in the heart of Medan city. During their operation, they experienced a lack of employee productivity, which can be seen from guests’ negative reviews and also their employee’s absenteeism. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of work compensation, motivation, and discipline on employee productivity at Emerald Garden International Hotel, Medan. Productivity is affected by a number of variables such as ability, attitude, circumstance, motivation, pay and salary, educational attainment, employment contract, and technological application. The research design used in this study is quantitative research with descriptive and causal approaches. The sampling method used in this research is proportional random sampling, with a sample of 88 employees. Test of the research instrument shows that most questions for the questionnaire are valid and reliable. The data are normally distributed, and multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity also do not occur. The hypothesis test shows that work compensation, motivation, and discipline have a simultaneous effect on employee productivity at Emerald Garden International Hotel, Medan. However, unlike motivation and discipline, work compensation does not have a partial effect on employee productivity. The writer suggests Emerald Garden International Hotel hire more employees, allow employees to take part in decision-making, reward employees with good attendance, and give out recognition and rewards. / Emerald Garden International Hotel adalah hotel bintang empat yang terletak di pusat kota Medan. Selama beroperasi, mereka mengalami penurunan produktivitas, yang dapat dilihat dari ulasan negatif para tamu dan juga ketidakhadiran karyawan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh kompensasi kerja, motivasi, dan disiplin terhadap produktivitas karyawan di Emerald Garden International Hotel, Medan. Produktivitas dipengaruhi oleh sejumlah variable seperti kemampuan, sikap, keadaan, motivasi, gaji, pencapaian pendidikan, kontrak kerja, dan penerapan teknologi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan kausal. Metode pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah proportional random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 88 karyawan. Uji instrumen penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pertanyaan untuk angket valid dan reliabel. Data terdistribusi normal, tidak terjadi multikolinearitas dan heteroskedastisitas. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kompensasi kerja, motivasi, dan disiplin berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap produktivitas karyawan. Namun, berbeda dengan motivasi dan disiplin, kompensasi kerja tidak berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap produktivitas karyawan. Penulis menyarankan Emerald Garden International Hotel untuk mempekerjakan lebih banyak karyawan, memungkinkan karyawan untuk mengambil bagian dalam pengambilan keputusan, menghargai karyawan dengan kehadiran yang baik, dan memberikan pengakuan dan penghargaan.
