Abstract

Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi is one of the hotels located in the tourist area of Berastagi, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. This study aims to find out about the work environment, discipline, and employee performance. The performance of employees at the Kalang Ulu Hotel Berastagi has not shown good performance. Most guests who visit the Kalang Ulu Berastagi Hotel still consider employee performance negatively because they do not provide services as expected. An increasing number of tardiness indicates that employees have problems with their performance. The working environment of employees at Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi shows that Hotel Kalang Ulu, guests can see old rooms that are not updated and not soundproof. In addition, there is damage to the interior and a lack of cleanliness in the hotel rooms. This study uses a quantitative design with a descriptive and causal approach. The population in this study were all employees of the Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi. The sample in this study amounted to 45 people using non-probability sampling with saturated sampling to determine the sample in this study. The questionnaires' distribution has passed the validity and reliability tests. The data tested also passed the normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, linearity, and multiple linear regression tests. The hypothesis test shows that the work environment and discipline partially and simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on performance. It can be recommended that the Kalang Ulu Hotel renovate the rooms, so there is no noise from guests. In addition, work discipline can be carried out by updating work standards and providing sanctions. / Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi merupakan salah satu hotel yang berada di kawasan wisata Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tentang lingkungan kerja, disiplin kerja dan kinerja karyawan. Pada kinerja karyawan di Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi belum menunjukkan kinerja yang baik. Kinerja karyawan masih dinilai negatif oleh sebagian besar tamu yang berkunjung ke Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi karena tidak memberikan pelayanan seperti yang diharapkan. Meningkatnya jumlah keterlambatan menunjukkan bahwa karyawan memiliki masalah dengan kinerjanya. Lingkungan kerja karyawan di Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi menunjukkan di Hotel Kalang Ulu yang dapat dilihat tamu adalah kamar yang sudah tua dan tidak diperbarui, serta tidak kedap suara. Selain itu ada kerusakan pada interior dan kurangnya kebersihan di kamar hotel. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan kausal. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua karyawan Hotel Kalang Ulu Berastagi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 45 orang menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan saturated sampling untuk menentukan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Penyebaran kuesioner yang dilakukan telah lulus uji validitas dan keandalan. Data yang diuji juga lulus uji normalitas, tes multikolinearitas, heterokedastisitas, uji linearitas dan uji regresi linier berganda. Dari uji hipotesis dengan hasil bahwa lingkungan kerja dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara parsial dan simultan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja. Dapat direkomendasikan ke Hotel Kalang Ulu untuk merenovasi kamar agar tidak terdengar suara bising dari tamu. Selain itu pada disiplin kerja dapat dilakukan pembaharuan dalam standar kerja dan pemberian sanksi.
