Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan hasil observasi peneliti terhadap siswa kelas IV di SD Kristen Kupang. Peneliti menyadari permasalahan yang terjadi ialah rendahnya sikap disiplin belajar siswa disebabkan oleh guru yang belum mampu mengatur kelas dengan baik. Siswa kurang dapat mengendalikan diri untuk belajar dengan sungguh-sungguh sehingga pembelajaran selalu diakhiri dengan tidak tepat waktu, dikarenakan banyak waktu yang terbuang untuk menenangkan kondisi kelas yang tidak tenang. Kondisi kelas yang tidak tenang disebabkan oleh kurangnya ketegasan guru dalam memanajemen kelas dan kurangnya kesadaran siswa untuk dapat mengendalikan dirinya untuk belajar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan disiplin belajar siswa melalui penerapan peraturan kelas hand signal dan mengetahui langkah penerapan peraturan kelas hand signal dalam meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 26 September hingga 25 Oktober 2018, dilakukan dalam satu kali penerapan dan dua kali pengulangan tindakan. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa di kelas IV. Data penelitian diperoleh dari beberapa instrumen yaitu Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), lembar umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, lembar checklist, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan peraturan kelas hand signal dapat meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas IV di SD Kristen Kupang. Peningkatan terjadi karena dilakukannya penerapan peraturan kelas sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang telah ditetapkan dan juga didukung oleh beberapa faktor lain, seperti peneliti perlu untuk terus menerus mengingatkan peraturan bukan hanya pada akhir pembelajaran melainkan selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung dan peneliti juga harus tegas dan konsisten dalam menanggapi perilaku siswa yang tidak disiplin. / This research is carried out based on the results of observations of the researcher towards fourth-grade students at Kupang Christian Elementary School. The researcher realizes the problem occurs in the classroom is the student's learning discipline problem caused by the lack of classroom management done by the teacher. During learning, students are struggling to control themselves to be able to study attentively. As a result, the learning process is mostly ended tardy as a lot of time is wasted to calm the students who are noisy. Ineffective classroom condition is caused by the lack of teachers' assertiveness in classroom management and the lack of awareness of students to be able to study attentively. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, the researcher implements hand signal class rules to improve the discipline of learning for fourth-grade students at Christian Elementary School Kupang. This study uses the Pelton Class Action Research (CAR) method. The study was conducted from September 26 to October 25, 2018, carried out in one application and two repetitions of actions. The research subjects were 30 students in grade IV. The research data was obtained from several instruments, such as lesson plan, mentor feedback sheet, reflection journal, checklist sheet, and observation sheet. The results of the study show that the application of hand signal class rules can improve the discipline of learning for fourth-grade students at Kupang Christian Elementary School. Increases occur because of the implementation of class regulations in accordance with the steps that have been set and also supported by several other factors, such as researchers need to constantly remind regulations not only at the end of learning but during the learning process and researchers must be firm and consistent in responding undisciplined student behavior.
