Abstract

One of the functions of Christian education is to transform the students' lives by leading the students to have a right understanding of human identity as the Imago Dei. However, in the present times, many social issues are happening that relate to identity. One of the issues is the identity crisis which relates to the lack of knowing of human worth or self-worth. The lack of knowing about identity may bring a bad impact on the students. For instance, the students show a disrespectful behavior such as doing verbal bullying or being rude to the students’ pairs and the teacher. Hence, the issues may make the function of the Christian education doubted. Therefore, the school and the teachers have the responsibility to ensure the students receive the right understanding of what is identity according to the Biblical Christian Worldview to transform the students’ disrespectful behavior problem. Teachers who have the biggest role in the teaching and learning process can do modifications with the material of the teaching to make the students understand about identity and to improve the students’ respectful behavior. This paper will discuss about the implication of the integration of the concept of Imago Dei in the adjective lesson.
