Abstract

Berdasarkan penelitian terhadap siswa kelas V C pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Palembang Harapan, peneliti menemukan permasalahan mengenai rendahnya kedisiplinan siswa. Permasalahan yang peneliti temukan, mengacu kepada hasil pengamatan secara langsung dalam pengajaran di dalam kelas dan didukung oleh instrumen data lainnya. Sebagai upaya dalam menangani permasalahan yang terjadi, peneliti melakukan penerapan reward dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan reward dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa dan cara penerapannya. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan model penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) menurut Pelton. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dilakukan oleh peneliti dalam dua kali penerapan tindakan, yaitu tanggal 26 Oktober 2018 dan 29 Oktober 2018. Subyek pada penelitian tindakan kelas ini ialah siswa kelas V C, yang terdiri dari 26 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), jurnal refleksi mengajar, lembar wawancara mentor, lembar penerapan reward dan lembar checklist kedisiplinan siswa untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan reward dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa. Penerapan reward dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut (1) reward diberitahukan terlebih dahulu kepada peserta didik artinya tidak diberikan secara tiba-tiba (2) pemberian reward harus disertai dengan nasehat dan juga bimbingan agar siswa tidak menjadi manja dan pamrih dalam belajar (3) reward diberikan pada saat peserta didik sudah melakukan pekerjaan maupun perilaku yang baik sesuai dengan peraturan yang ada (4) pemberian reward merupakan upaya dalam memberikan dorongan sosial dan mencapai keberhasilan belajar seperti, pujian, makanan, dan benda yang berguna untuk menunjang pembelajaran. /Based on research on students of class V C on Indonesian Language subjects at the Palembang Harapan School, researcher found problems regarding the low discipline of students. The problems that the researchers found, referring to the results of observations directly in teaching in the classroom and supported by other data instruments. In an effort to deal with the problems that occur, researcher conduct the implementation of rewards in the learning process. The purpose of this research was to determine whether the application of reward can enchance student discipline and how to implement it. In this research, researcher used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) model according to Pelton (2010). Classroom action research (CAR) was conducted by researcher in the application of two times, namely October 26, 2018 and October 29, 2018. The subjects in this class of action research were students of class V C, which consisted of 26 students. The researcher used the learning implementation plan, teaching reflection journal, mentor interview sheet, reward application sheet and discipline checklist sheet to collect research data. Research results show that the application of rewards can enchance student discipline. The application of rewards can improve student discipline with the following steps (1) rewards are notified in advance to students, meaning that they are not given suddenly (2) giving rewards must be accompanied by advice and guidance so students do not become spoiled and selfless in learning (3) rewards are given when students have done good work or behavior in accordance with existing regulations (4) giving rewards is an effort in providing social encouragement and achieving learning success such as praise, food, and objects that are useful to support learning.
