Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi merupakan salah satu pembelajaran yang menuntut siswa untuk aktif. Aktif yang dimaksud adalah terlibat dalam mengerjakan aktivitas belajarnya secara sadar, baik secara fisik maupun mental. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan peneliti pada siswa kelas X, peneliti menemukan masalah bahwa siswa tidak memperhatikan penjelasan guru, tidak berani mengajukan dan menjawab pertanyaan guru, tidak mendengarkan arahan yang diberikan guru. Peneliti memutuskan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw untuk mengatasi masalah yang tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dan bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton pada tanggal 04 dan 11 Oktober 2018 dengan subjek sebanyak 24 siswa. Sumber data penelitian berupa RPP, lembar observasi, jurnal refleksi harian, dan lembar umpan balik mentor.Hasil penelitian menunujukkan bahwa dengan penerapan jigsaw keakifan belajar siswa pada tindakan mencapai 46,53% dan pada tindakan 2 mencapai 88,88%. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dengan terlebih dahulu memberikan dorongan kepada siswa dengan memberitahu manfaat belajar dalam kelompok, sehingga siswa terdorong untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran jigsaw/ Biology is one of the subjects that requires students to be active. Being active means the students engage in learning activities both physically and mentally. Based on observations on grade X students, researcher found that students were still not active shown by some behaviours such as; did not pay attention to the teacher's explanation, were not brave enough to ask questions or answer questions and did not follow learnning instructions. The researcher decided to use jigsaw cooperative learning model to overcome the problem. The purpose of this study was to find out whether and how the application of the jigsaw cooperative learning model could improve students’ engagement. This study used Pelton's Class Action Research (CAR) method condaucted, on October 4 and 11, 2018 with 24 students as the research subject. Instruments used were observation sheets, daily reflection journals, and mentor feedback sheet sand RPP. The result showed that the implementation of jigsaw could engage 46.5% in action 1 and 88.88% in action 2. Implementation of jigsaw could engage students in learning by giving encouragement and emphasizing purpose of the jigsaw cooperative learning model.
